The word algebra comes from the Arabic ( "the reunion of broken parts") from the title of the book Ilm al-jabr wa'l-muḳābala by the Persian mathematician and astronomer al-Khwarizmi. The word entered the English language during the fifteenth century, from either Spanish, Italian, or Medieval Latin.

Answer:

Algebra is a type of mathematical numeral which is represented by numbers and letters. The numbers are called constants as they can’t be changed and always have a fixed numerical value. For example, 4 is always 4. It can’t be changed to 5. The letters are called variables as they can have any numerical value because they have various numerical values. They have no constant value. For example, the variable a can be 7 or 8 or many more. The word ‘Algebra’ is derived from the Arabic word ‘al-jabr’.
