Maharana Pratap is known for the famous war of Haldighati against Mughal emperor Akbar.
The battle which was fought on June 18,1576 ; is still remembered by the people of Mewar. Maharana Pratap army was highly outnumbered but the warrior fought with courage and by the end made an escape with his horse, Chetak.It was also known that he was the only Rajput King who used two swords which weighed nearly 25 kilos each.It is said that he offered one sword to his enemy before a fight,if he was unarmed. Currently the swords are placed in the Maharana Pratap museum in Udaipur, Rajasthan.
