conducted trade in stone, metal and Shell, Probable a barter system existed
In return for finished goods and food grains, Harappa procured metal from neighbouring areas by boat and bullock cart. 
They were aware of the use of wheels
They maintained commercials links with Afghanistan, Iran and Rajasthan.They set up trading colony in  northern Afghanistan, which facilitated trade with Central Asia
Their cities also had commercial links with people of Tigris and  Euphrates basins.Many Harappa seals were discovered in Mesopotamia.
Harappans imitated some cosmetics used by urban people f Mesopotamia.Harappans carried on long distance trade on lapis lazuli.
The Mesopotamian  records of 2350 BC onwards refer to trade relations with  Meluha, the ancient name of Indus region.
