No it is not actually growth but due to endo-osmosis water molecule tend to get inside the wood .
And this cannot be termed as growth

  • Actually the wood which is swollen will not turn to grow because due to the endo -osmosis water molecule tend to get inside the wood and this cannot be termed as the growth.  
  • Bunching of the wooden piece which is kept in the water cannot be called as growth because as there is no rise in the dry weight of the wood.
  • As we know the growth is always internal.
