We have,

√18-6√5 = √a - √b

Square both sides,

(√18-6√5)^2 = (√a - √b)^2
⇒ 18 - 6√5 = a + b - 2√ab
⇒ 10 + 8 - 2 (3√5) = a + b - 2√ab
⇒ 10 + 8 - 2 (√45) = a + b - 2√ab

Comparing rational and irrational parts from both sides, we get,
a+b=18. (Proved)

Lipimishra2: Fine now?
