Nationalist movement spread when people belonging to different religions and community begin to develop a sense of collective belongingness. it developed through the experience of United struggle.
Many cultural processes also contribute to it. history, fiction, folklore, songs, popular prints and symbols are all played a part in making of nationalism.
it was seen in India during its freedom movement in following ways:-
1. The Identity of a nation is most often symbolised in a figure or image.
the image of Bharat Mata was first created by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay in 1870 when he wrote Vande Mataram for our motherland.
2. Indian folk songs and fault tale sung by baad played an important role in making idea of nationalism.
3. during the Swadeshi Movement in tricolour flag was designed in Bengal.
NATIONALISM THROUGH INDIAN ANCIENT HISTORY
another means of creating feeling of nationalism was explaining the meaning of history again. the Nationalist writer of the readers to take pride in India that great achievements in the past and struggle to change the miserable condition of life under British rule. but unification of people involved some problems. when the past that was being life glorified was Hindu and the images celebrated why are taken from Hindu iconography the people of other communities felt left out.
CONCLUSION:-
a growing anger against the colonial government brought together various group and classes of Indians in two common struggle for freedom in the first half of 20 century. however different expectation of diverse group post a constant traits to Unity. the Congress under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi tried to channel people suffering in to organise and United movement for independence.
