the diagonal of a rhombus are 6 cm and 8 cm , then find its height

first,


as we know that the diagonals of rhombus bisects each other at 90 



by pythagoras theorem,

(half of first diagonal)^2 + (half of second diagonal)^2 = side^2

(6/2)^2 + (8/2)^2 = side^2

3^2 +4^2 = side^2

9+16 = side^2

25 = side^2

5 = side


Now,

area of rhombus = product of diagonals/2

area of rhombus = 6*8/2 = 6*4 = 24cm^2


then 

area of rhombus = hieght*base 


then 

24 = 5*hieght

24/5 =height

hieght  =  4.8 cm
