⭐Dry Ice is the common name for solid carbon dioxide (CO2). It gets this name because it does not melt into a liquid when heated; instead, it changes directly into a gas (This process is known as sublimation).

⭐It is used primarily as a cooling agent.

⭐It is formed when Carbon dioxide gas is first pressurized and cooled to form liquid CO2. The liquid carbon dioxide is injected into either a block press or pelletizer. These machines have chambers in which, once released to atmospheric pressure, the liquid carbon dioxide converts to dry ice and CO2(g).

Dry ice, sometimes referred to as "cardice" (chiefly by British chemists), is the solid form of carbon dioxide. It is used primarily as a cooling agent. Its advantages include lower temperature than that of water ice and not leaving any residue (other than incidental frost from moisture in the atmosphere).

Dry ice is made from carbon dioxide gas. The carbon dioxide gas is pressurized and cooled to form liquid CO2. The liquid carbon dioxide is injected into either a block press or pelletizer.
