Let theta be a for ease of writing

Given:-

  • cos²a/cot²a-cos²a = 3

To find:-

  • The value of a.

Now,

= cos²a/cot²a-cos²a = 3.

=》 cos²a/cos²a/sin²a-cos²a = 3.

{Since cot x = cosx/sinx}

=》 cos²a/cos²a-sin²acos²a/sin²a = 3.

{By Taking LCM}

=》 cos²a/cos²a(1-sin²a)/sin²a = 3.

{By taking cos²a as common}

=》 1/1-sin²a/sin²a = 3.

{Since cos²a/cos²a = 1}

=》 1/cos²a/sin²a = 3.

{Since sin²a+cos²a = 1 =》 cos²a = 1-sin²a}

=》 1/cot²a = 3.

=》 cot²a = 1/3.

=》 cot a = 1/root3.

=》 a = 60°

{Since cot 60° = root3}

Therefore the required value of theta is 60°

Hope this will help you if it HELPS then plz mark my answer as BRAINLIEST.
