1) Area of shaded path= 50× 5 + 35× 5 - 5× 5
= 250 + 175 -25
= 425 -25
= 400 m^2
2) See figure
Area of EFGH = 40× 28= 1120 cm^2
Area of ABCD= ( 40+2+2)× (28+2+2)
= 44× 32
= 1408 cm^2
Area of margin= area of ABCD - area of EFGH
= 1408 - 1120
= 288 cm^2
= 250 + 175 -25
= 425 -25
= 400 m^2
