The sun's movement in the sky as you can visualize is a clock-wise. Later also when the clocks were developed initially, they mimicked the natural movement of the sun. So, the clock's hands got a clock-wise movement. The clock-wise movement is much attribute to movement of sun in Northern Hemisphere.
