Moment of inertia is defined as the product of mass of body and square of perpendicular distance from the axis of rotation

I=MR^2

Whereas M is mass of body

R is perpendicular distance of body from the axis of rotation.

SI unit is kg-m^2

Dimensional unit is [ML^2]
