* * The main objectives of this commission were listed below which causes for protest against it in India:

1. It provided for special rights to Governor General and Governors for minorities.

2. It provided for powerful centre, increment in voting right on communal basis, indianisation of force, reorganisation of legislature, deterioration in home government and representation of local princely states.

3. There were talks of separating Sindh from Bombay State and Burma from India.

The Simon was appointed to enquire the working of act of 1919 and to suggest further measures to improve Indian administration.

All the members of this commission were English men. It insulted the Indians.

The Simon commission was greeted by black flag demonstration and placards showing "Go back Simon".
