India is the one of the world's most populated countries. With a population of 133.92 crores, It's no surprise that population is becoming a big problem. When more children are born, there is a struggle for getting the resources to survive.

In a country where there is major illetracy because of less money, it is no surprise that the poor are shunning the newborns. This is because when the poor cannot earn enough money for their daily meals, what is the guarantee that the child will be healthy?

When children are not taken care of properly, it can affect their mental and physical health. Because the poor cannot meet their own ends, most of them take raising a child as a burden. They begin to do everything for money and even send small children to distant places for jobs, resulting in child labour.

Of all children, girls from poor families are the ones who are getting the heat. To end their suffering, the government came up with the Beti Padho Beti Bachao scheme for their education and social security.

This is the fate of the child in the eyes of the poor.
