Hockey is my favorite sport. I never tire of playing, and I'd play all day, every day, if I could. My teammates are great, and we all work well together. We don't always win our games, but we always have fun. We want to improve as a team, so we practice every Tuesday and Saturday during hockey season. Tuesday practices are after school at 7, but Saturday practices come bright and early at 7 in the morning. I don't mind the early morning practices. In fact, I like how quiet the house is at that time of day. My dad usually wakes me before the sun is up, and we have breakfast together in the kitchen. He always has cinnamon raisin oatmeal and he always makes me chocolate chip pancakes with a banana. One day, however, my dad woke up late. He rolled out of bed, woke me up, and we just hopped in the truck. I quickly changed before getting in the truck, but he didn't even have time to change out of his pajamas. I didn't even realize he was wearing his pajamas until I was on my way to the locker room at the arena. My eyes bulged out of my head. I felt a flush of embarrassment, and my stomach did the funny flip it always does when I'm uncomfortable. I couldn't believe he looked so silly. I honestly thought he was trying to embarrass me on purpose. I overheard a few of my teammates commenting on his penguin pajama pants and laughing. I didn't even want to know what they were saying. I quickly ran into the locker room and got ready for practice. All I could think about were those ridiculous pants as I put on my hockey gear. I couldn't focus on getting ready for practice at all. When I skated out onto the ice, I looked up into the stands and saw my dad. He was standing with the other parents and they were all laughing. The embarrassment came back and filled me with shame. My stomach flipped again. Then I noticed my dad was laughing, as well. He wasn't embarrassed at all. Instead, he was joking with them! I watched in surprise as one of the other dads gave him a high-five! I thought to myself that I shouldn't be embarrassed
