Answer:

12cm

Step-by-step explanation:

according to the problem

the base is 3/2times of each side

let one side be a cm

therefore the other side is also a cm

perimeter of the isosceles triangle =sum of the three sides=42

=a+a+3a/2=42

=(2a+2a+3a)/2=42

7a/2=42

7a=42*2

a=42*2/7

a=6*2

a=12cm

therefore the sides are 12cm, 12cm,18cm

Answer:

sides =12 , 12 & 18 cm

area =71.37 sq cm

height =7.93 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

take the base as y and other sides as x

x + x + y = 42. &. y = (3/2)*x

so. x + x + (3/2)*x = 42

on solving x = 12 cm

y = (3/2)*12 = 18 cm

using Pythagoras theorem in triangle , we get

12^2 += h^2 + 9^2

h =√(12^2 - 9^2)

h = 7.93

area = (1/2)* base* height

= (1/2) * 18 * 7.93

= 71.36 sq cm
