Eutrophication is the process of the depletion of oxygen in water bodies due to the overgrowth of algae,

when farmers over-fertilize their fields and when the rain falls, it washes away all the excess fertilizers which are excess and cannot be used by the plants, this excess stuff ends up in water bodies leading to the overgrowth of algae, due to the overgrowth of algae, it prevents the entrance of oxygen in the water body leading to a dead zone where no organism can survive. Eutrophication is also known as ALGAL BLOOM

HOPE IT HELPS YOU...
