REDUCTION -Reduction is the gaining of electrons.

REDOX - oxidation and reduction happening simultaneously.

oxidation

  • it is the loss of electrons.

Reduction

  • A chemical reaction in which hydrogen is added to, or oxygen is removed from, a compound.
  • Opposite of oxidation.

Redox Process​

  • Redox is a chemical reaction in which the oxidation states of atoms are changed.
  • both oxidation and reductions steps occur in this process
