Answer:
The meristem tissue's ability to continuously divide allows for vegetative propagation to occur. Another important ability that allows for vegetative propagation is the ability to develop adventitious roots which arise from other vegetative parts of the plants such as the stem or leaves.

⇄ Vegetative Propagation is a type of asexual reproduction in which a complete new plant is produced from any vegetative part of the plant.
⇄ Vegetative part means any part of the plant which is not involved in sexual reproduction such as roots , stems and leaves.
⇒ When any of these vegetative parts develops into a new plant under appropiate conditions, it belongs to the category of vegetative propagation. The new plant produced are genetically identical to the original parent plant.
≡ Vegetative propagation is a comman practice in horticulture for producing plants with particularly desirable characteristics. It can occur both naturally and artificially.
⇒ Leaves = In some plants such as Bryophyllum, leaves help in vegetative propagation. In Bryophyllum, plantlets develop along the leaf margins. When these plantlets detach and fall on the ground they grow into independent plants .
⇔ Some advantages of vegetative propagation →
It is cheaper , easier and fastest method of propagationn in plants than growing plants from seeds.
It is the best method of multiplication of seedless plants like pineapple, banana and sugarcane.
Better traits or characteristics of the parent plant can be preserved. Hence, plants have the advantage of being more uniform and genetically similar to the parent stock.
