Cucumber is basic or alkaline in nature. It is due to the presence of alkaline magnesium and calcium elements. cucumber is also considered as one of the most important alkaline food item to consume daily.

⇒ The substances having pH value 7 is neutral.

⇒ The substances having pH value less than 7 is acidic in nature.

⇒ The substance having pH value More than 7 is basic in nature.

⇒ pH value of cucumber is between 5 to 6 Therefore, cucumber is acidic in nature.

⇒ Since the substance is acidic in nature there will be increase in Hydrogen ion (H+) concentration .

⇒ If it is basic in nature there will be decrease in Hydrogen ion (H+) concentration.
