1)Na has valence electron 1 and Mg has the valence electron 2 so, the tendency of Na is losing electron is more than the Mg and to become positive. So, Na is more reactive than the Mg.

2) Standard electrode potential can be defined as the electron/electrons which is/are acting on a cell at the cathode. It is also known as standard reduction potential. It is different from electrode potential because, electrode potential only acts on the half of the cell and standard electrode potential acts through the whole cell.
