According to me the way a holy river Bagmati river gets polluted is as follows:

• Primary reason of its pollution is lack of regulations of municipal corporation.

• The vital reason of pollution of Bagmati river is the uncoordinated rapid urban expansion. The wasted material of these areas are increasing day by day and causing the pollution.
• Insufficient treatment facilities of wastewater is also a reason of it.
• Otherwise, people are not enough aware about this kind pollution.

Lack of regulations by MNC, Urbanisation pollution , insufficient maintenance of water and lack of population awareness are the main reasons.

The MNC not having any specific maintenance plan for the ricer contributes to it not becoming regularly clean.

Urbanisation and up and coming projects and corporations dump their wastage into the river hence polluting it even more.

Lack of water cleaning by the government or any wastewater management plant also contribute to it.

Lack of awareness unlike the yamuna river cleaning project means that there is little support from the population which also contributes it to not getting cleaned.
