Hope this helps,

The discovery and description of this species is credited to both Mary and Louis Leakey, who discovered the fossils in Tanzania between 1962 and 1964.

Homo habilis, known as 'handy man' is a species of the genus Homo which lived from approximately 2.33 to 1.4 million years ago, during the Gelasian Pleistocene period.

Answer:

According to Darvin's Theory

Homo Habilis

Homo Habilis  represented the first man-like ancestor. They were about 150 cm tall with a cranial capacity ranging from 680 - 735 cm³.

They showed bipedal locomotion (slightly more erect then their previous breed),  a large head and less protruding face.

Their body was covered with hair and the dentition showed small canines like that of a modern man.

Additional Information:

The human ancestors according to Darvin's theory are in this series.

1) Australopithecus

2) Homo Habilis

3) Homo Erectus

4) Neanderthals

5) Cro- Magnon

6) Modern Man or Homo sapiens
