Honey bees have three types of  individual in their colonies. (i) Sterile diploid female as workers, (ii) one fertile diploid female as queen and (iii) fertile haploid males s drones. Haploid drones develop from unfertilized eggs. Queen and workers develop from the fertilized eggs. The difference between the two is the diet that makes the queen fertile while the worker remain sterile. i hope it helps. thnku
