Honor among thieves basically speaks about the robbers not cheating on other robbers. It shows that thieves too have some self-esteem or egocentric personalities wherein they respect the work of other thieves and appreciate the ideas and tricks.

In the reference to the story - "A Question of Trust", the male thief Horace Danby encounters the so-called owner of the house who is actually a thief who raids Horace and also puts him to jail. The basic gist of this story is that this young lady does not follow the honor and thus has cheated Horace by putting him in jail. As Horace became the assistant librarian in the prison, he would come across a few people who speak about the honor among thieves, he would get very angry.

Honor among thieves means thieves respective other thieves in their profession, which includes not harming the interests of other thieves. However, in the story 'A Question of Trust', the protagonist, Horace Danby was cheated by the lady in the red who posed herself as the owner of the house and cleverly trapped him in a clever trap.
