1) HORIZONTAL DIVISION OF POWER-Power is shared among different organs of govt, such as legislature, executive and judiciary.eg-the distribution of power between Indian parliament (legislature) , the council of ministers leaded by chief ministers(executive) and courts of India(judiciary).

2) VERTICAL DIVISION OF POWER-the power is shared among government at different levels -a General government for the entire country and the government at regional level .eg-in India power is shared among Centre Government , State Government and local government .
