Given info : A horizontal spring (K = 300 N/m) with a mass of 0.75 kg attached to its undergoing simple harmonic motion.

To find : (a) period,

(b) frequency and

(c) angular frequency of this oscillator.

solution : here spring constant, K = 300 N/m

mass attached to it, m = 0.75 kg

using formula,

ω = √{K/m}

= √{300/0.75}

= √(400)

= 20 rad/s

therefore angular frequency of this oscillator is 20 rad/s.

now frequency, f = ω/2π

= 20/2π = 10/π = 3.185 Hz

and time period, T = 1/f = 1/(10/π) = π/10 = 0.314s
