a) SMTP(Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) is the gold standard for passing email messages from one mail server to another.
b) Answers may vary (I use outlook) so the default folders are Inbox,Drafts,Sent Items, Deleted mail, Junk mail and Notes
c) Yes it is
