Of course! Although my mom is no longer here, my Dad and soon-to-be step mom are encouraging me to learn how to drive. As a 15 year old, driving is extremely scary to me. Especially since I’ve been in some car crashes, and have seen my parents get in a car crash from a separate car.

I’ve never been behind the wheel of a car, or even tried driving yet, but my 16th birthday is in a couple months and I plan to get my driver’s permit as soon as possible. I’ve been studying like crazy, getting library books to study, doing online tests, and watching practice videos. I know everything I need to know about driving, the only thing that scares me is actually driving.

I don’t trust myself, and I know that my parents want to help me drive for the first time, but having them in the car puts two lives on the line and I’m not ready to handle that kind of pressure yet. I’m trying to prepare myself as much as possible, but it is very hard for me.

My parents are supportive, they are encouraging me for when the time comes and giving me advice about it, but not pressuring me to do it. I hope I have the confidence to drive for the first time when I have to.
