Magnet contains two poles one South and the other is North    When LIKE poles come together( i.e  North North or South South )  then repulsion ocuur between them  When UNLIKE poles come together or near each other (i.e North South) then attraction occurs

shri84: why this repulsion and attraction occurs in both poles?

The attraction occur in two poles of magnet is due to magnetic field around the magnet.  Attraction between two unlike poles i.e, north pole of magnet attracts south pole of magnet and south pole of magnet attracts north pole of magnet. This is because the property of magnet that unlike poles attract each other.   Hope it helps Mark me as brainliest Thanks..
