There are millions of alveoli present in our lungs. alveoli are the balloon like structure present at the end of each bronchioles.The alveoli provides a large surface area where exchange of gases takes place. The wall of alveoli have an extensive network of blood vessels.These blood vessels are semi-permiable membrane allows the exchange of gases like carbon dioxide and oxygen.
