Atria are the two chambers located in the upper part of the heart. These are right atrium and left atrium. Atria have very thin walls and are separated by interatria septum. Atrium is a chamber that receives blood. Right atrium receives impure blood from the tissues through superior and inferior vena cava. Left atrium receives oxygenated blood from lungs through pulmonary veins.

The Auricle is a small structure which arises from each atrium. Auricles are also two in number, left auricle and right auricle. Auricles increase the blood holding capacity of the auricles.

The atrium is smooth inside whereas auricle has musculi pectini inside, which give it an irregular surface.

hope it helps!!

Atrium is the upper chamber of heart and auricle is the conical muscular pouch that arise from each atrium. Auricle is also called atrial appendage. Their purpose is to increase the capacity of the atrium and also increase the volume of blood that it is able to contain.
