As in all animal cells, the cells of the human cheek do not possess a cell wall. Acell membrane that is semi-permeable surrounds the cytoplasm. Unlike plant cells, the cytoplasm in an animal cell is denser, granular and occupies a larger space. The vacuole in an an animal cell is smaller in size, or absent. An onion cell is a plant cell, and a cheek cell an animal cell. The main differences between plant and animal cells are that plant cells have: Cellulose cell wall Large vacuole Chloroplasts (if the plant is green) Cellulose cell wall Large vacuole Chloroplasts (if the plant is green) from the inner lining of the mouth.
