The main points of difference are:-

1) In mixtures the constituting particles remain unreacted, they are only attached physically, whereas in compounds the particles are chemically combined with each other.

2) In mixtures the  individual chemical properties of the particles can be observed whereas in compounds these properties cannot be observed.

3) During the formation of a mixture new substance are not formed whereas in case of the compounds new substance are formed.

4) Mixtures can be separated by physical method whereas compounds can only be separated by chemical process.

5) In mixtures there is no chemical bonding between the particles whereas in case of compounds it is there.

Hope it helps.

compounds are chemically combined and and the separation of these compounds is possible only chemically.and the new substances are formed when reacted.compound contains the atoms of two or more elements which are chemically bonded,

mixtures are not chemically combined and can be easily separated physically, and these contains several elements, compounds which are just mixed together.and these mixtures don't chemically react whereas compounds will.and these mixtures form suspensions,colloids,etc........

hope this helps.
