My elder brother's wedding was going to take place in Mumbai. So all my family members went to Mumbai by train. There were 10 persons in our wedding party who were travelling in the train. One very far off relative whom I saw for the first time was there in my compartment. He was an elderly gentleman. He had a lot of luggage with him which consisted of several small handbags. He wanted to keep all the bags on the berth and would not allow anyone to put them down. He spread a towel and then sat on it because he felt that the berth was dirty.

When the train started moving he spread out all his things on the berth and seemed to be looking for something. He fidgeted a lot. When my father saw this he offered to help him. The relative told him that he was looking for the keys which he had misplaced. So my father also started searching in the bags with him. Soon my uncles, my cousins, and my aunts also came and joined in the search. They took out everything from the bags and the compartment was in a mess.

The ticket checker came and asked each one for their tickets. Everyone showed their tickets but this relative could not find his ticket. So everyone now started looking for his ticket. By then the train reached a station and stopped. The relative had some tea and snacks. When he wanted to pay for it he found that his purse was missing. Now everyone came to his aid to look for the purse. They could not find it and were tired so they went to rest. The relative put back all the things in the handbags and was very sad that he had lost his keys, ticket and purse.

When the train reached Mumbai, the relative was horrified to find that his slippers were missing. He had to get down from the train with his precious luggage barefoot. It was a very sad sight.  Everyone in the wedding group was feeling bad for him. Just then my cousin came running from the other coach and handed a pair of slippers and a handbag to the relative.

The keys, ticket and purse were found in the bag. The relative had entered another coach before coming to our compartment and forgotten these things there. Everyone laughed, and the relative who had been in tears laughed even more loudly.
