it depends on the classification criteria
-if it is classification on the computer ability:-then range would span all the way from handheld devices, to desktops to supercomputers .
-if memmory was the issue:- then here again from hand held devices to deskstop to mainframers/database etc.
-if u r worried about graffics:- then u need to understand the graphic card etc.
-some specific things also need classification based on the board chips . but this probably gets into the realms of DSP.
- some specific distinguish between OS, but then some dont.
specially classification depends on ur point of view or requirment .
