The Arrangement of Electrons in Different Orbits

The shells begin from the centre and gradually move outwards. So K shell will always have minimum energy. Similarly, L shell is a little away from nucleus so it will have higher energy than K shell. The outermost shell will have maximum energy.

There is the law of octet in which there can't exist more than 8 electrons in the outermost shell of an atom.

Helium and hydrogen are the exceptions which follow the law of duplet to gain stability.

The capacity of a shell is found out by the formula 2n² where n denotes the position of the shell

Example k shell is the 1st shell and so its capacity is 2(1)²= 2

Hope this helps
