Extrusive rocks are formed by molten lava erupting out of an active volcano, reaches the surface of the Earth cools down rapidly to become a solid piece of rock. Eg - Obsidian

Intrusive rocks on the other hand are formed when molten magma cools deep down inside the crust. Eg - Granite
