The Galwans was a community of specialist who took care of the horse and ponies; during the grazing period in return of this they were paid. However, this situation changed and the Galwans became the horse bandits, this action of the Galwans threatened the administration and people before the rule. Therefore, to suppress them the Sikh rulers took hard measures such as they were arrested, killed and hanged, their heads were chopped off and then freed, by different governors at different times. Consequently, many of the Galwans left they are and moved towards Baluchistan and Laddakh with their original profession.
