The word 'Ignis' is a latin word that means fire. the interior of the earth contains very hot molten material . this is called magma . when magma reaches the earth surface, through cracks and crevices, it is called Lava. cooling and solidification of molten magma either inside the earth on the surface result in the formation of igneous rocks.

Explanation:

Igneous rocks (from the Greek word for fire) form when hot, molten rock crystallizes and solidifies. The melt originates deep within the Earth near active plate boundaries or hot spots, then rises toward the surface.
