how are microbes (archaebacteria) able to flourish in hot springs and hydrothermal vents where temp. far exceed 100 deg C ?

Through Hetrocyst it is a cyst which helps them to prevent from hot springs and worse temperature.

Microbes (archaebacteria):

  • Archaebacteria is a type of bacteria which is not actually bacteria.
  • These are the now a days classified under a separate domain called Archae.
  • Archaebacteria has a specific type of components in the cell wall.
  • These are highly branched chain fatty acids and amino acids.
  • They also contains many other tough compounds like NAM and NAG which are very strengthful.
  • So,they can easily thrive at hot water lakes. They cam easily thrive above 100°C.
