how are minerals Classified on the basis of their origin answer in brief plz help me

Since the middle of the 19th century, minerals had been classified on the basis of their Chemical composition. Under this scheme, they are divided into classes according their dominent anion or anionic group eg= helides, oxides and sulfides.
