Explanation:

In a democracy, it is the people who elect their representatives as Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) and, thus, it is the people who have the main authority. The ruling party members then form the government and some members are appointed ministers.

Both of them are different with respect to status, power and attitude towards service. An MLA becomes a different person after becoming a minister in regard to status. A minister gets a chauffeur driven car and personal staff whereas the MLA continues to remain the representative of the people. The Minister becomes arrogant while the MLA continues to remain as humble.

The minister becomes inaccessible whereas the MLA continues to become accessible. The minister becomes greedy so as to become corrupt easily as he is in a position to award contracts or to get acquaintance with the businessmen whereas the MLA looks for opportunities to earn money by any means, legal or illegal. The minister ceases to work for the people of his constituency whereas the MLA is left with no choice but to work for the people who have elected him.
