how are mountains differ from plateau

plateaus are table lands, they will be flat in the top...but mountains have peak which is not flat...

In general, a mountain is a landform that has some kind of significant prominence or distinction compared to the surrounding land, usually in the shape of a peak.

plateau is an elevated land with a flat top and steep slope on at least one side.
