NUCLEONS

The sub-atomic particle found in the nucleus of an atom is called a nucleon. Nucleons is a collection of protons and neutrons. Whenever we refer to "a nucleon" it could be either a proton or a neutron.

The force which holds the nucleus together is called Nuclear Force.

To calculate no. of nucleons we need to add all the protons (Z) and the neutrons (N) present in the nucleus of the atom.

The protons are the positively charged particles whereas the neutrons are neutral particles. The don't have any charge.
