plastic bags are harmful for soil because they are non biodegradable.
they can't be decomposed by microorganisms action.. it causes many other harms to the soil like soil erosion and decreases he fertility of soil...

Although they don't react with soil so they are not harmful if present in less quantity......but increase in there quantity results in soil erosion, less aeration in soil, which affects plants growth too...
