Protons are positively charged particles with atomic mass of 1u.

They are embedded in the nucleus, in the form of a cluster which consist of protons and neutrons.

As they are positively charged still they are embedded in the nucleus due to gluons.

Gluons are the careers of strong nuclear forces and act when two particles are in the contact with each other.

This force is much more than the repulsive electrostatic force
