Rocks is a made up of minerals .when many minerals collect than it becomes by many reaction.(And when the lava burns and spread out on the land by many reaction it becomes rocks)
from( to ) is a practical examples .but if you want main answer than answer is = when the lava burns and after few days it become cold like normal temprature than it becomes a hard material(substance) this process is called rock formation
