Answer:

Sea caves.....

The are formed when the sea water strikes at large rock again and again. Due to this striking the water is able to penetrate through the rock, gradually forming sea caves.

SEA ARCH...

gradually the caves become bigger and only the roof remains, forming sea arches.

STACKS...

as the erosion continues the roof collapses and what remains are the walls. These walls are called Stacks.

Answer:

1. Sea caves: However the most common caves are formed by differing hardness of sedimentary rocks. Where a softer form of sandstone erodes out faster than a harder area of the same rock formation this leaves a cave. Put that formation at sea level and then through in a few thousand years of crashing surf and you speed up the process. Now add in the varying sea levels that take place as well as plate uplifts and down thrusts that adjust where the sea meets the formation and then now you might find a cave above or below sea level.

2. Arches: Sea arches are formed when the waves collide with the rock and the weak portion of the rock will dissolve in the seawater and give the rock shape of an arch.

3. Stacks: Coastal erosion or the slow wearing of rock by water and wind over very long periods of time causes a stack to form. All sea stacks start out as part of nearby rock formations. Millennia of wind and waves hit the rock and break it down.
