sperm cells have three parts having different uses :-
i . head - contains nucleus and hydrolytic enzymes
ii. neck - contains proximal  centriole which gives support to axial filament of sperm .
iii. middle - contains power house i.e. mitochondrial spiral .
iv . tail - by this part sperm is able to move or swim in fluid medium from testis to ovum .
when sperm reaches to ovum then its tail is left behind and his head get penetrated and forms zygote

For functioning, cells of sperms are adapted by the following ways -

1. The head present in the sperm consists hydrolytic type of enzymes and also nucleus.

2. Proximal centriole can be found in the neck region which supports the body of sperm.

3. To get energy, the middle area of sperm contains many mitochondria.

4. Since sperms has to travel very long distances, so to aid in their movement a tail is present.

5. To get into the ovum, they have a special structure called acrosome at the tip of their head.
